Day 73... Taipei Day 1 (Part 1)

XQ's very first overseas trip (Other than Sentosa...).

Our flight was 8:10am, so we all got to wake up very early...Obviously XQ one leg still in dreamland...

Our awarded : Best Airport in the World

naive...HAH! FRIENDS~!orrrr...means got to put u inside luggage...come~!as we used online check in, we got alot of time to have breakfast.this is nice~u got passport anot? go!?no passport wanna fly ah!k la k la...smuggle u in...go inside my pocket and shut up.小馬哥 on duty again...

1st time taking China Airlines...hope it's not as bad as the rumours...

Turn out...IT'S LIKE SQ!~!Even the TV and controller looks the same.
It's a 4 hrs flight...sit down enjoy the clear blue sky~
and breakfast...looks gd taste bad~!
EXCEPT FOR THE DESSERT~!!! Very nice!!

But XQ sampled it before i did!

he deserved it~!

of course...he filled it out for fun...

After approximately 4 hrs...we finally saw Taiwan...a lot of mountains

and here starts our long journey of TAIPEI!

Tiong Bahru Market, just shifted to a new permanent building on it's own. Very big and clean place...for now...

Day 67... IMM

Today we explored the North side of Singapore~

We started from Sembawang. And it was raining cats and dogs.

We board onto brother's big and comfy car~It was almost an hr's ride...
Fianlly we reached IMM~It's our first time there, full of people and full of cars~ 6 storey carpark, left 6th floor available...

We were welcomed by him~ (he is missing something, take a good look at the pic) IMM = INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE MART
A huge building focusing full of varities of shops with eat floor focusing on a genre. 3rd floor is interior design, renovation...

This shop, everything $2 each!!!

GIANT, the name says it... a gigantic supermart. It also has it's own Miss Giant and Mr Giant...competition, even got variety shows using Giant as sponsor and subject. Such as Chinese New Year Varity show, 《愛上GIANT過肥年》.

XQ stayed at the department for quite some time...staring at pastries...might be his new hobby...

Today is Father's Day~ Every restaurant we went is FULL. We were told the estimated available table time will be an hr later... of course XQ's stomach can't wait so long...We finally gave up the thought of going to restaurant to have our dinner...we went to
BAGUS Food Court. Never heard of it before, first time here.
No outside food...ok...yah no smoking...no pet...reasonable... NO ALCOHOL... i never thought of drinking in food court...so i dun know of there's a regulation that food courts dun sell alcohol...
Ok the last 1 is really ridiculous NO PHOTO TAKING~!!!!!?????
I thought for quite some time...Y? Not military camp...not meusum...food court cannot take pictures worr....can anyone give me the answer?

So i test their system~~We all have a fairly good dinner...

Day 65... XQ's 1st Appearance

This was done in yr 2000, when i was in poly year 1.
It was done with carvings on a piece of rubber (i forgot the name of this type of art), then paint black ink on the rubber and transfer it to rice paper.... the process is very tedious and very difficult to get a good piece. How it works is u carve on one side of the rubber piece, when u paint the ink over the carved parts will not get the ink, that's how the white park come about, the uncarved parts will be the black. Getting ink onto the rubber is fairly easy...the hard part is getting it'printed' onto rice paper...most of us use the big scoop that is used to scoop rice, and rub and rub onto the paper, till the black part is fully stained with ink, cause if not done properly, there's be white dots all over...
This is a little story that i thought of for XQ, so he's creacted in yr 2000 when this project started, can see that the features is changed, last time XQ got wing, taller, less cuter...feelers also different direction now. So just look at the pics, i'll write the story at the end of the post.

The story is about XQ, a boxer, had a final match in the ring, and he thought of his mum who jus passed away, got distracted and gave his opponent a chance to give him a final blow, therefore lost the match. It's a sad ending...
